Connect EDITO with external storage

You can connect your EDITO account with your personal storage, to allow you to work seamlessly with it.

Context

If you work with an external S3-compatible bucket to store your data, you can choose to work with it in parallel of (or instead of) the EDITO data storage.

Add an external bucket

To set up an external S3 bucket on EDITO, you can add it directly through the Datalab:

  1. Go to Project Settings and stay on S3 Configurations (1)

  2. Add you external bucket using the button Add a custom S3 configuration (2)

  3. For your configuration options:

    1. If you have a public bucket, you can enable the Anonymous option (see next section)

    2. For a private bucket, you will need your access credentials

    3. Enable Use for EDITO explorers to browse your bucket graphically in our FIle Explorer (see next section)

  4. You can then browse your data through the File Explorer

Connect with public storage

It is possible to connect to public buckets using the Anonymous option, allowing integration with external storage provider or even with other EDITO project storage public paths.

Browse buckets

By enabling the Use for EDITO explorers option, it is also possible to use the “File Explorer” page to graphically browse the bucket.
